About Us

History Of The Farm

We are the 5th generation of farmers on the land. The farm's original owners, Auntie Elizabeth (who Bay is named after) and her husband Daniel, moved on to the property in the early 1900s. They grew apples, cherries, or berries, and Auntie always kept a beautiful garden. Throughout the years, each generation has used the land in different ways. Our family has always been growers at heart.

Bay Meadow Farms gets its name from Bay, who is nicknamed after Auntie, and Meadow from the sunny spot Margo grows the flowers.

We love Leelanau County and what it stands for. Intentional living, connecting with family, hard work, and handmade, locally grown products.

  • Margo & Bay

Bay Meadow Farms is a family dream brought to life. Margo grew up in Suttons Bay, Michigan, where her grandparents once owned the land the farm now blooms on. Inspired by her grandmother, she always dreamed of running a flower farm—and with her daughter, Bay, that dream became a reality. Now, even Bay’s daughter, Violet, loves running around the farm and helping wherever she can!

Margo spends summers in Suttons Bay while living in Vail, Colorado, and Bay travels from Denver to help out each season. Together, they’ve created a place where family, passion, and flowers thrive.

  • Kennedy

For the past four summers, Kennedy has been an essential part of Bay Meadow Farms, growing her passion for flowers with each season. Her dedication and hard work have helped the farm flourish, and now, as Farm Manager, she plays a key role in its success.

Kennedy recently earned her master’s degree in social work from Michigan State University and is pursuing her dream of supporting the community through child welfare. While making a difference in people’s lives, she continues to bring her energy and expertise to the farm, helping it thrive.

  • Payton

Payton has spent the past three summers at Bay Meadow Farms, mastering the art of drying flowers. She loves transforming blooms into wreaths, flower crowns, and petal confetti.

This fall, Payton will be a senior in high school and is an active member of the track and field team. She starts her summer mornings with a run before heading to the farm to do what she loves!

  • Ashlee

Ashlee has been a part of the Bay Meadow Farms team for three summers, growing her passion for flowers each season. She’s currently studying Advertising Management with a minor in Business at Michigan State University and will graduate in spring 2026.

Bringing her creativity to the farm, Ashlee recently launched a TikTok account for Bay Meadow Farms—be sure to give it a follow!

  • Emily

This will be Emily’s second summer at Bay Meadow Farms! She graduated from Hope College alongside Kennedy, and the two have become the best of friends. Emily has a knack for crafting beautiful bouquets and a deep love for all the farm’s little creatures.

When she’s not at the farm, you can find her working at her local public library in Grand Haven or spending her free time writing a book.
